Active Children Portland: Help AC Portland raise money at a Timber’s game!

Help AC Portland raise money at a Timber’s game!

At every Timbers and Thorns home game, AC Portland runs a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Portland Timber’s Foundation, Stand Together, to build fields in low-income neighborhoods, and for AC Portland, to fill the fields with low-income youth to participate in soccer, nutrition, and literacy programs.

Volunteers will come to the game 2 hours before kickoff and work selling 50/50 tickets up to the 55 minute mark, and then enjoy the rest of the game and some discounted food. We have a great app for the raffle, so there will be a quick training on it before starting and the volunteers are free to roam the stadium with our tablets selling.

We are in need of volunteers for all of the games at Providence Park in May:

  • Sunday, May 1st (Timbers v. Toronto FC)
  • Sunday, May 15th (Timbers v. New York City FC)
  • Saturday, May 21st (Thorns v. Washington Spirit)
  • Sunday, May 22nd (Timbers v. Vancouver Whitecaps)
  • Sunday, May 29th (Thorns v. Seattle Reign)

About the Organization

Active Children Portland’s mission is to empower students to lead healthy lives, succeed academically, and inspire positive community engagement. The organization began in 2011 with the vision to transform communities and serve hundreds of local students through youth sports. Active Children Portland program participants receive programming 30 weeks a year, 4 days per week, which keeps them active, healthy, and engaged in a positive and stable after-school environment.

Our programs focus on helping all participants to develop the confidence and life skills they need to succeed. We believe that by taking a holistic and comprehensive approach to youth-development, and by focusing on kids who need it the most, we CAN make a positive difference for the next generation.
