El Programa Hispano Catolico: Do you have tax experience? You can help your community this season!

Posted by

VITA provides volunteers a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon’s low-income Latino families.

By volunteering just four hours a week during tax season as a trained Quality Reviewer you can provide a vital service and in turn an important step towards economic security to those most in need. You will also gain a meaningful new experience and become a part of a team of like-minded people.

Quality Reviewers are essential to the success of our program, ensuring high-quality, accurate preparation and service. Spanish is helpful but is not required. Continuing Education (CE) credit is available. Orientations are happening throughout November and December, trainings and service begin in January. Please contact our Site Coordinator Karen Keating with any interest or questions you have. We look forward to hearing from you!

About the Organization

El Programa Hispano Católico in Gresham is a non-profit organization providing quality social services and programs to low-income Latinos throughout the Portland metropolitan area. Through considerable volunteer support and dedication our VITA program offers free tax preparation to the community, providing low-income taxpayers a trustworthy, culturally-specific alternative to unlicensed tax preparers and to paying tax preparation costs they cannot afford. Last season our volunteers helped over 1,000 taxpayers secure $2.4 million in refunds and in saved preparation fees!
