Seeking Spanish-speakers to help the low income community – no experience necessary!

EPHC offers free tax preparation to the low-income community, providing vulnerable taxpayers a trustworthy alternative to unlicensed tax preparers and to paying to prepare their basic tax returns. Last season our volunteers helped over 1,000 taxpayers secure $2.2 million in refunds. Volunteers do not need prior tax knowledge, we provide the free training!

We are seeking bilingual individuals to volunteer as tax preparers, intake assistants and interpreters 5 hours per week during tax season (late January to mid-April). Our tax program is completely volunteer-based—the more volunteers we receive the more low-income taxpayers we are able to help!

Please contact our Site Coordinator Karen Keating at kkeating@catholiccharitiesoregon.org or 503-489-6834 with any interest or questions you have. We look forward to hearing from you!

About the Organization

El Programa Hispano Católico provides a wide array of social services to low-income Latinos in the Portland metro area. A cornerstone of the community since 1982, our mission is three-fold: to increase self-sufficiency within the Latino community, to empower individuals to achieve a better quality of life and to promote mutual understanding and respect among cultures.
