El Programa Hispano Catolico: Do you have tax experience? You can help your community this season!

Posted by

Do you have tax experience? You can help your community this season!

EPHC offers free tax preparation to the low-income community, providing vulnerable taxpayers a trustworthy, IRS-certified alternative to unlicensed tax preparers and to paying to prepare their basic tax returns. Last season our volunteers helped over 1,000 taxpayers secure $2.2 million in refunds!

We are seeking volunteers with experience in taxes (preferably EA, CPA, RTRP, LTP or tax attorney) to help as trained quality reviewers, a vital role in the success of our program. We ask for 5 hours per week during tax season. Spanish is helpful but not required. Continuing Education (CE) credit is available for your volunteer service hours. Free volunteer training provided. Orientations begin in November.

Please contact our Site Coordinator Karen Keating at kkeating@catholiccharitiesoregon.org or 503-489-6834 with any interest or questions you have. We look forward to hearing from you!

About the Organization

El Programa Hispano Católico provides a wide array of social services to low-income Latinos in the Portland metro area. A cornerstone of the community since 1982, our mission is three-fold: to increase self-sufficiency within the Latino community, to empower individuals to achieve a better quality of life and to promote mutual understanding and respect among cultures.
