El Programa Hispano: Help the Low-Income, Latino Community, No Experience Necessary!

Posted by

El Programa Hispano provides a wide range of quality, culturally-appropriate social services to low-income Latinos in the Portland metropolitan area. Through considerable volunteer support we offer free tax preparation to the community, providing these vulnerable taxpayers a trustworthy, culturally-specific alternative to predatory tax preparers and to unnecessarily paying to prepare their basic tax returns. This program is completely volunteer-based—the more volunteers we receive the more taxpayers we are able to help. Volunteers do not need prior tax knowledge, we provide the necessary training free!

We are seeking bilingual individuals interested in providing a vital service to those in need to help us as trained tax preparers, intake assistants and interpreters 4-5 hours/week during tax season (late January to mid-April). Orientations begin in October.
