El Programa Hispano: Do you have experience with taxes? Help your community this tax season!

Posted by

El Programa Hispano provides a wide range of quality, culturally-appropriate social services to low-income Latinos in the Portland metropolitan area. Through considerable volunteer support we offer free tax preparation to the community, providing these vulnerable taxpayers a trustworthy, culturally-specific alternative to predatory tax preparers and to unnecessarily paying to prepare their basic tax returns. This program is completely volunteer-based—the more volunteers we receive the more taxpayers we are able to help.

We are seeking individuals with tax experience (preferably EA, CPA, RTRP, LTP or tax attorney) interested in providing a vital service to those in need to help as trained quality reviewers, the most vital role in the success of our program, 4-5 hours/week during tax season (late January to mid-April). Spanish is helpful but not required. Continuing Education (CE) credit is available for your service hours. Orientations begin in October.
