A little about me

I have worked for PCC in the Ladybug infant classroom since fall of 2019 but have been working with children since 2007. I started out as a nanny and then moved on to work for Head Start and Early Head Start, where I worked for eight years in several bilingual programs. I have worked with children ranging from six weeks to six years, but my focus has been on infants and toddlers, ages zero to three.

I am most passionate about working with infants and toddlers because of the lasting impact that social interactions and relationships have on a child’s present and future development and health. Our youngest children have such a great capacity to learn and absorb new skills and abilities. Everyone has a different image of what a child is and what they are capable of, but I think that as adults, we often overlook the potential that our youngest citizens have. It is my goal to advocate for young children and to help them reach their potential by providing a safe, loving environment where they are allowed to explore and grow to their best ability. I love being a part of the team at the PCC Child Development Center and it is an honor to work with the children and families.

I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and I love the rain! Outside of the classroom I enjoy spending time with family (I have three amazing nephews and an amazing niece), being crafty with such activities as crocheting, drawing, baking, and sewing. I currently live in Beaverton with my fiance, our two dogs, and our cat.

A little about me

I am from El Salvador and I came to Portland in 2013 with my husband. We have been married for 10 years and we have 2 wonderful children. My native language is Spanish and I love incorporating curriculum in the classroom using my language.

I have been working with children since 2014. I have been teaching from infants to preschool ages. I started working in a bilingual preschool, and now it is an honor for me to teach at the Child Development Center. I have been working at the CDC since 2017. During these years, I have had the privilege of working in the infants, toddler, and preschool classroom. I consider myself fortunate to be part of the Early Childhood Education family.

I adore teaching and I love using my knowledge of early childhood teaching methods and techniques to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and learning activities for children (ages infant to six years old).

I create appropriate learning activities for children according to their age, interests, and needs. I like to create a welcome environment to represent diversity and the uniqueness of each child. It is important for me to keep a good relationship with families, because I believe that we work together, as a team, for the welfare of the children. I value each culture represented in the classroom and I enjoy learning about it. I feel that everyday is an opportunity to learn more about the children and to support them during their early development.
