Oregon CIS

Oregon CIS contains detailed information on over 600 occupations. Learn about expected wages, job outlook, educational requirements, and more. Also, use CIS to find schools that offer your major.

  1. Log in to MyPCC and click on the My Courses tab
  2. Click on Oregon CIS next to Career Planning Works
  3. Answer Yes or No when asked if you already have an existing Oregon CIS account
  4. To find details about specific careers, click Explore Resources then Occupations in the bar on the far right side, and go to the Occupation List or Sort

Focus 2

Focus 2 has an extensive database of occupations that you can explore by keyword, industry, and related major. You can also identify PCC programs based on your personal interests.

  1. Log in to Focus 2 with your username and password
  2. If you don’t have an account, click Register
  3. Use access code panther and create your own username and password

O*NET Online

O*NET Online has detailed descriptions of hundreds of occupations. Search by keyword, industry, or Holland Code.

  1. Log in to O*Net Online
  2. Click Find Occupations to browse by keyword or industry
  3. Hover your cursor over Advanced Search and click on Interests to find occupations associated with your Holland Code

Roadtrip Nation

Roadtrip Nation has sponsored hundreds of students to interview inspiring leaders who defined success on their own terms. Watch student-led video interviews to learn from leaders in a variety of fields.

  1. Go to Roadtrip Nation
  2. Click the magnifying glass (top right)
  3. Click Videos then Interests to search for personally relevant videos
  4. Alternatively, from the homepage click What We Offer, then Roadmap Tool under Explore & Plan for customized careers based on your interests

Candid Career

Candid Career has hundreds of video interviews with advice from real professionals.

  1. Log in to Candid Career
  2. Search for videos by career title, major, keyword, or industry
  3. Discover career fields you didn’t know existed and learn what it takes to get there!

Employment Department

Use the State of Oregon Employment Department to locate employers in your field, job outlook projections, and wage information for Portland. Search under the Jobs and Careers tab: qualityinfo.org

Idealist.org

Idealist.org connects idealists – people who want to do good – with opportunities for action and collaboration.

  1. Go to Idealist.org
  2. Select Organizations in the dropdown menu
  3. Add your location then click Search
  4. On the next page select one or more Issue Areas (dropdown on left side)
  5. Further refine your results by adding a keyword at the top of the page
  6. Use your results to learn about organizations doing work that aligns with your values and discover volunteer opportunities, internships, jobs and more
