F Drive retired

Posted by

photograph of a sunsetToday marks the retirement of our “F” drive, a very important milestone in the Data at Rest program to address known security vulnerabilities related to how we store and protect files. Along with improved security, using your PCC Google Drive to store files results in increased usability and robust backup and restore capabilities.

We are especially grateful for the time and work you put into moving your F:drive files and learning how to use Google Drive for file management.  This is your success too!

For managing files in Google Drive after migration, we highly recommend Google Drive File Stream (DFS). This tool is especially helpful in working with Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).  With DFS you can open, edit, and save files in their original format.
