The Basic Needs Hub is a program housed in the PCC Student Basic Needs Center. Each Hub is staffed by a team of Peer Resource Navigators. Our Peer Resource Navigators are student interns from the PCC Family and Human Services program and the PSU School of Social Work who offer a peer-to-peer model of support.

What We Do

We provide PCC students with information and referrals to basic needs resources like food, housing, transportation, and healthcare so they can focus on their personal, academic, and career goals.

Peer Resource Navigators help guide and assist PCC students with:

  • SNAP eligibility screening and applications
  • Oregon Health Plan information and applications
  • Accessing community free food resources
  • Navigating housing resources and referrals
  • Accessing utility assistance programs
  • Mental health provider search
  • TriMet Reduced Fare Program applications
  • Connection and referrals to on-campus and community resources to address their basic needs
  • One-on-one conversations to think things through, identify goals, explore strategies, and build a plan.

Hubs are located in the Student Basic Needs Center at each PCC campus:

  • Cascade: Student Union, Room 207
  • Rock Creek: Building 5, Room 113
  • Southeast: Mt Tabor Building, Room 152
  • Sylvania: CC Building, Room 216

When

Basic Needs Hub Winter 2026 hours:

Hub closures: January 19th

The Student Basic Needs Center will be closed for the PCC holiday break (December 12 through January 6). During this time, we encourage you to access community basic needs support by calling or visiting 211info.
