Details about this class

Writing 121 focuses on the study and practice of writing and rhetoric as inquiry− that is, students will
use writing and rhetorical concepts such as purpose, audience, and context to pose and investigate
problems that are meaningful in their lives and communities, explore open questions, and/or examine
complex tensions. This is first and foremost a composition course and we will be doing a significant
amount of writing and reading throughout the entire quarter. The theme for this particular course is
generational thinking; what makes up a generation and how or why is it important? As such, the
assigned essays, readings and films have been put in place to incite conversation; you do not have to
agree with the occasionally controversial sentiments expressed within them.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
