Details about this class
This is a beginner class to learn to play guitar and read music on the guitar. We will cover learning to read music, fingerpicking, chord strumming and, some practical music theory.
You will need to have a guitar for this class. Any type of guitar can work, but I highly recommend a classical (nylon string) guitar. Classical and some flamenco guitar techniques are taught. The coursework is broken up into weekly modules with weekly quizzes and assignments to help you to learn better.
You will need to have a functioning camera and microphone to submit your weekly assignments.
The class begins with classical guitar technique, standard notation, finger-picking. It later moves to tablature, chords and strumming.
You should plan to practice at least 20-30 every day.
Technology
Guitar, Camera with microphone required for this class.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
