Details about this class

This class looks at what history is, why we study it and how we study it.  I highly recommend this class for anybody who is interested in pursuing History as a major.  Even if you are not interested in a history degree this class is great for helping to understand media today.

THIS IS NOT A GENERAL EDUCATION CLASS

This is an Online Class with Scheduled Meetings on Monday morning.  All work is due Sunday nights 11:59 pm.

The class has a free textbook.  The textbook is  The Methods and Skills of History by Michael J. Salevouris 4th edition.  It is a FREE link to the library so there is nothing to buy. 

Throughout the ten weeks we will be looking at different components on studying history such as multiple causation, context, continuity and change.  We will also be looking at history on film, memory and history and why history is important to study.  We will be looking at different aspects of US history when working on theses concepts, including the Civil War, Civil Rights and Women in history.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
