ED291 Bilingual Brilliance
Introduces educators to effective strategies for supporting emergent bilingual students in K-12 classrooms. Examines the historical, political, and social dynamics surrounding language in education, helping educators understand how power and policy have shaped bilingual experiences in U.S. schools. Explores the value of preserving and honoring students' heritage languages as a vital part of their cultural identity, family connections, and community ties. Emphasizes an asset-based approach and research-based strategies for how educators can foster inclusive, language-rich environments that affirm students' multilingual abilities so that emergent bilingual students thrive linguistically, academically, and socially.
