Details about this class

SolidWorks Fundamentals is designed to acquaint the student with a fundamental understanding of 3D modeling best practices. Emphasis will be placed on sketching commands, critical modeling features and assembly construction. The class is organized around weekly modules. In each module students are assigned one lab project creating sketches, models or assemblies in SolidWorks. The module for the week also includes reading, video demonstrations, online discussions, a quiz, and links to interactive learning materials via mySolidWorks. 

Students collaborate via online discussions. I am available for 1:1 Zoom or in-person meetings, scheduled via Google calendar.

Technology

Students are provided a free license of SolidWorks to install on their home computer. To run SolidWorks, the computer must run Windows 10 or 11 and meet minimum hardware requirements. See details at this link: https://www.solidworks.com/support/system-requirements.

Please contact me if your computer does not meet system requirements so we can explore other options.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
