Details about this class
Everyday Chemistry is a course that is completely online (you never need to come to campus) with no scheduled meetings. The lectures are interactive presentations in a free eBook. You will typically need to set aside 1.5 hours a week to watch the lecture content. While there is no physical textbook required for the lecture portion of the course, you will need to purchase a lab kit (see below).
CH100OL will introduce topics relating to the interaction between chemistry and society that may spark an emotional response. This supports the PCC Core Outcome of applying scientific perspectives to our social systems. (You can find a complete list of PCC Core Outcomes here.) We encourage you to contact your instructor with any concerns before or during the course.
- 2-3 hours to view the video lectures, complete the accompanying homework problems, and take the weekly quiz
- 30 minutes-2 hours to complete the weekly discussion post
- 3 hours to complete the weekly lab activity and report
If you have further questions, please e-mail your instructor, TJ Goeden, at Terrah.Goeden@PCC.edu.
