Details about this class

This class examines what people think, feel, and do in organizations. We will examine individual and group interactions in organizational settings, with focus on perception, communication, motivation, leadership, and small-group dynamics. We will also explore how individual behavior, team processes, organizational climate, and global challenges affect organizational change and development.

As your instructor, I focus on cultivating an organizational "feel" to our online class environment to support real world dynamics of human relations in organizations. Each week we will explore different aspects of human relations in organizations; where we will analyze real-world case studies and engage in discussion activities to connect the textbook theoretical concepts to real world application - and recommend ways to strengthen human relations, so both the employees and the organization thrive.

There will be weekly discussions on Fridays with case study assignments and reports due Sundays, optional extra credit quizzes, and a final report due finals week.

One of my favorite things about teaching this class is seeing student critical thinking and connection of the concepts to their own experiences - I look forward to working with you in this class.

Technology

Students will need a working webcam and microphone (or device with both built-in) to record and post their introduction video in week 1. No other video work will be conducted following that activity.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
