Details about this class
Hello Students!
I look forward to working with you in this exciting class where you build a business model. This online course has *Required Virtual Class Sessions every Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:50 am PST (as outlined in the PCC Class Schedule). Sessions are held using Zoom.
We strongly recommend that all students take BA 150, Intro to Entrepreneurship *before* taking this BA 250 course.
- However, a prerequisite override for BA 150 is available to students.
- If you have previous entrepreneurial experience and would like to request an override, just send me an email. I'm a Department Chair for the Business & Entrepreneurship program.
Prep for this Class:
- Students are expected to come prepared to work on their own business idea or a project (for an existing business or nonprofit organization.)
- Students are developing a business model for a venture or project concept.
- There are assignments every week to build the business model.
Please feel free to email me ( heidi.sickert@pcc.edu) with any questions,
Heidi Sickert
Technology
This Remote & Hybrid course uses Liveplan, an industry- based software to help you build a business model. You can purchase a subscription through the PCC Bookstore.
- If you are completing the 1-year Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development Certificate, we recommend that you purchase a 6-month or 1-year subscription because 3 courses in the Certificate use Liveplan.
- BA 250, BA 253 and the upcoming BA 296 use Liveplan in the class. (BA 296 will first be offered in Fall term 2027. You can request a course substitution if completing the Certificate before then.)
Additional content and learning materials are provided in the D2L Brightspace course.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
