Details about this class
In my BA 205 course, you’ll develop practical communication skills you can use in the workplace and everyday life. We’ll focus on professional writing, email, presentations, listening, audience awareness, and feedback. You’ll also explore how emotional intelligence (EQ) and CliftonStrengths support effective communication and leadership.
I emphasize learning through practice, reflection, and real-world workplace examples. Expect professional writing assignments, applied communication activities, and both individual and team-based work.
This course uses an instructor-developed Business Communication Playbook along with CliftonStrengths for Students and Emotional Intelligence 2.0 materials.
If you have already completed either assessment through another course, your workplace, or a professional setting, you do not need to purchase those materials again, provided you still have access to your assessment results.
This is a hybrid course, combining scheduled face-to-face class meetings with required online coursework. Plan to participate actively in class and complete weekly readings, assignments, and online activities between meetings. Managing your time and keeping up with both parts of the course will be important to your success.
