Details about this class

This course is designed to prepare you for the next phase of your professional journey. You will explore career planning strategies, develop effective business communication skills, and learn how to differentiate yourself in a competitive job market. You will learn a broad range of professional skills from crafting a strong resume to confidently navigating interviews. By the end of the course, you will be equipped to translate your ambitions into meaningful career opportunities.

 

This course does not use a traditional textbook. All materials, including articles, videos, website links, or other content is provided directly within the online course.  The one exception to this is that Students will be asked to purchase a student version of a self-assessment tool called CliftonStrengths (formerly StrengthFinders). The student version costs $24.99 and further details are provided during the term. 

Technology

As an online class you will need reliable access to the internet, a web browser, webcam and microphone and basic word processing software i.e. MS Word, Google Doc's etc.  

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.

Prerequisite for online classes

Before you take your first online class at PCC, you must complete the start guide. The start guide will help you decide if these classes are right for you. Once you complete the start guide, you will be able to register for these classes.
