Details about this class
This is a fully online course, so we will not have weekly class meetings, and all of the content you'll need is within our D2L shell.
The theme of this class is "epiphanies and transformations." In addition to weekly assignments such as response papers, peer reviews, and discussions, you will write three major essays. The first is a 4 page personal/narrative about a moment of epiphany, big or small, that transformed your life in some way; the second will be a 4 page thesis-driven interpretation of a film that hinges on a moment or moments of epiphany; the third and last will be a 5-6 page expository/research paper that explores a cultural epiphany—and/or that seeks to ignite one in your reader.
Please email me at erin.ergenbright@pcc.edu with any questions you have about the course!
Technology
You will need access to some sort of a Word processing suite, like Microsoft 365 (it's free for PCC students!) or Google docs.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
Online & Remote Teaching Technical Requirements
Please be sure to read the quick guide to Online Learning technical requirements.
Students with disabilities
Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
