Botanical Drawing in the Rose Garden
Learn about botanical drawing while taking a deep dive into the art, science and history of the rose. Experiment with drawing techniques to illustrate wild and cultivated roses. Students will dissect flowers, share observations and take a field trip to Peninsula Park to draw in the rose garden. For ages 12-17.
No previous drawing experience necessary. All levels welcome. Bring a sketchbook, pencil, eraser, sharpener any pens, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, watercolor paint pens, etc. of your choice to sketch with.
Students will walk to Peninsula Park to draw so bring a hat, water, backpack and something to sit on (towel, blanket) if needed.
