Details about this class
Hi everyone! This summer class is an online, asynchronous course with no regular class meetings. There are 2 virtually proctored exams required. All Math and Statistics classes have proctored exam requirements.
Our class has a course packet. I will send you the PDF version!
There will be two proctored exams on Zoom with me. Please read the Student Guide to Virtually Proctored Exams. If you prefer to take your tests in person you may take them at any PCC testing center or a testing center at a college or university near you. There may be a fee to take it at a testing center outside of PCC.
- Midterm Exam (week 5): Thursday, July 23, 5pm-7pm OR Friday, July 24, 10am-12pm (Zoom check-in begins ~30 minutes prior)
- Final Exam (week 10): Thursday, August 27, 5pm-7pm OR Friday, August 28, 10am-12pm (Zoom check-in begins ~30 minutes prior)
- You can also choose to take your tests in person at one of the PCC testing centers.
- Note that summer term on the schedule goes until Week 11, so once you finish the final there is still some time to finish up any missing work!
There are no regular class meetings. However, I will be at the Cascade campus throughout and can always help you during Zoom office hours, online forums and email. My goal is to make statistics fun and straightforward without too much "math" but to also give to give you a chance to deeply think about what statistics!
A typical week will involve lecture videos with fill-in notes, "labs", online homework and a take-home quiz. The book is free online and all the apps we use are free.
Technology
There is no additional technology required for this class.
