Details about this class
This course includes one Zoom class session per week. We will use this time largely for social/collaborative learning and to discuss our fiction writing in large group conversations and small group workshops. If you enroll in this course, you should be able to attend our weekly Zoom class sessions, though a majority of the weekly coursework will be completed independently online. Our online activities will include weekly readings (short stories, novel excerpts, craft essays, peer writing, etc.), short film selections, open-ended online discussions about your fiction writing, and generative writing exercises.
Technology
No special technology is required; I will share our course materials (our syllabus, assignments, readings, videos, artwork, etc.) on D2L at online.pcc.edu. Students should have regular access to the internet, to access D2L at least three times per week and attend our weekly Zoom classes. If you haven't used D2L before, not to worry; I will share an online scavenger hunt during the first week of the term, which will introduce everyone to our course materials and our online learning processes.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
