On the Trail of the Lewis and Clark Exposition
In this class we will explore the fragments and remainders of Portland's only world’s fair. Through the investigation of archives, ephemera, and the fair grounds itself we will gather together to search for what remains of the fair.
While some world's fairs leave an unmistakable physical presence for years to come, others like The Lewis and Clark Exposition, have all but vanished from the space that they occupied. Initial class will be held at PCC and all subsequent classes will be held at places that have a direct connection to the fair itself.
