New Films From Around the World - Foreign Films: 2000-2026

Campus contacts

Many great films premiered in 2025 film festivals. Cannes, Venice, Berlin. I'm finding the best from 2025. We'll see these new films mixed with others from the 21st Century. Learn about history, art, culture, and business of these films.

This class is your opportunity to finally see those great new foreign films. It's become difficult keeping up with the immense world of international cinema. Arthouse movie theaters have been disappearing. Streaming services rarely offer foreign-language films. Viewing options have been shrinking. In this class we'll catch up with the best new films from around the world. We'll pick films from France, Germany, Italy, The U.K., Austria, Romania. Following the films we'll have informal discussions, learning about the culture, the art, the business, and history of each film. No ancient silent films. No trendy hyper-violent films. No dreadful four-hour movies of sad-looking Swedish people. None of those terrible Italian sex comedies from 1964. All will be in color, made in the past 24 years. Some will be in English. The rest will have subtitles.
