Details about this class

Welcome to PSY 213! This is a very unique class offered for PCC students! The content of the course will give students an overview on behavioral neuroscience at an introductory level.

This is a fully online class offered through the Distance Learning campus. As a result, there are no set meeting times. This will allow you to log into D2L when it suits your schedule. For each module, the access begins on Friday morning with the VoiceThread due Thursdays and the weekly quiz and Deep Delve assignment due Saturdays (by 11:59 pm). A 72-hour grace period is provided for all assignments to allow for flexibility due to unforeseen life situations.

Each week the module will consist of readings from the educational resources, lecture slides to help guide note-taking, a mini-lecture video (during which I walk you through select topics covered in the module), video links to further immerse you in the material, a VoiceThread assignment, a quiz, and a Deep Delve Photovoice on a disorder of the nervous system.

I look forward to having you in class and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Technology

Students need access to stable internet and D2L. Students will also need to use the Google Suite apps such as Google Docs and Google Slides as well as VoiceThreads (which is embedded in D2L). The final presentation will require the use of a webcam as well as Zoom (to complete a video recording).

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
