Details about this class

  1. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING THROUGH THOROUGHLY WHICH SHOULD ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS.  THANK YOU.
  2. Item 1. Textbook: Introduction to Law for Paralegals: A Critical Thinking Approach, Eighth Edition, by Katherine A. Currier, Thomas E. Eimermann, Marisa S. Campbell (same textbook used in PL 101, 102, and 108).

    Edition: 8th

    ISBN: 978-1-5438-5847-1

Item 2. Online Quiz Access: INTRO TO LAW F/PARALEGALS W/ONLINE QUIZ
    Author: CURRIER

    Edition: 8th

  3. Scenario 1 (for students taking PL 101 who DO NOT plan on continuing in the Paralegal Program): If your plans are to take PL 101 only AND NOT continue in the Paralegal Program, then either buy (either new or used) or rent the textbook only (Item 1 above only).

Scenario 2 (for students planning on continuing in the Paralegal Program): If your plans are to continue in the Paralegal Program, then it is recommended that you buy BOTH the textbook (Item 1 above) AND the online quiz package NOW (Item 2 above) because it will be less expensive for you in the long-run.  PLEASE BUY THE MATERIALS THROUGH THE PCC BOOKSTORE WHICH IS FAMILIAR WITH THESE MATERIALS AS OPPOSED TO AN OUTSIDE RESOURCEYou will need this same textbook (Item 1 above) for PL 102 and you will be taking the online quizzes in PL 108 (Item 2 above).

Although we, as faculty, are obligated to make you aware that there is an online version of the above textbook, we STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you purchase the hard copy NEW (not used) THROUGH THE PCC BOOKSTORE instead, especially if you are someone who falls under SCENARIO 2 above.  A hard copy is easier to use and will create less confusion when purchasing your access to the online quizzes which only comes with purchasing the textbook NEW (not used).  THE PCC BOOKSTORE will know better how to handle getting you access to the online quiz package than any another outside resource.

Also, when you purchase the textbook NEW (not used), you should request that it be bundled with Aspen Publishing's Write.Law software which is free with any NEW (not used) purchase.  The Write.Law software was originally designed to help law students improve on their legal writing skills; it is now available to you as paralegal students.  Aspen Publishing will provide you with a code that is good for one (1) year from the time you activate it.  If you have any questions about bundling this software, please contact Aspen Publishing directly.

**Finally, if you already have the 7th edition of the textbook above, you can use what you have and you DO NOT need to buy the 8th edition.  If you do not already have the 7th edition, please make sure to buy the 8th edition.
