Details about this class

This is a blended learning format class.  The online schedule misrepresents how this class is set up.  Each week our blended learning will be from a combination of the following:

  • about 4 hours of ONLINE lecture and lab each week,  3.5 hours of IN-PERSON lecture and lab on Wednesdays- SE Campus from 9am-12:20pm, and you can expect to have about 4-6 hours of independent practice/homework.
  • All weekly assignments will be submitted online
  • Exams will be give in-person, during our regularly scheduled class meeting.
  • A good way to think about this class is that it is mainly an ONLINE class, with a weekly class meeting to work with your classmates and get questions answered.
    • If you think an online class with a little bit of face-time would be a good fit for you, this class is for you!
    • If you don't think that you are well-suited for online learning, I encourage to find a traditional class that will meet twice a week and that requires little to no online work to be completed.

Technology

You will NOT need a graphing calculator for this course, we will use Desmos which is free and available online

We will be use the FREE online homework system called MyOpenMath.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
