Details about this class
We will be using Unity game engine, XR Interaction Toolkit, and Vuforia Engine to create virtual and augmented reality applications. Documentation for each is available from the software creators.
The course is a hybrid remote/in-person course. Mondays are remote, Wednesdays are slated for in-person, but there may be times where it is not necessary to meet in person and I will signal when those times are.
If you are interested in taking the course but physically attending on campus is a barrier, arrangements can be made to complete the class remotely.

Technology
On campus we will have access to Valve Index and HTC Vive virtual reality systems. We also have a Microsoft Hololens for demo purposes.
For AR exploration it is recommended that you have a web cam.
If you are interested in developing on your own hardware, your instructor recommends Quest, Vive, or Index headsets. Acquiring a used Quest 2 will be your most cost effective entry level VR headset.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
Students with disabilities
Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
