Details about this class

Greetings, and welcome to the dynamic world of geography! World Regional Geography examines every world region, discussing cultural, economic, political and physical features which make regions unique. My approach to this course focuses on current events and how geography applies to our everyday lives. Your experiences and insights are an important part of our conversations, which will occur throughout the week via D2L discussion boards.

This is a 100% on-line, asynchronous course. That means we have no class meeting times, and all course materials and class interactions will take place in the D2L Brightspace learning platform. You will have access to pre-recorded content videos and activities which focus on applying geographic and regional concepts. You’ll engage in the on-line course multiple times a week, and respond to your classmates in discussion posts, encouraging conversation.

What can you expect?

  • A free, on-line, open access textbook
  • Flexibility period for late work (no penalty for late submission within flexibility period)
  • Weekly discussion forums and quizzes
  • On-line class discussion and responses
  • Video and map analysis
  • A 3-5 page term paper
