Details about this class

This class continues where CS161B left off, so we'll start with arrays of structs (from 161B) and then learn about classes, dynamic memory, linked lists, and recursion.

Technology

The PCC Linux server is the only C++ development environment permitted in CS 162 for assessments. Students must be proficient in using the Linux command line, a Linux command-line based editor (vim or vi), and standard Linux tools and utilities.

Students will need to use a secure shell client (SSH client) to access the PCC Linux environment. Windows users can use free software such as PuTTY or Bitvise, while Mac and Linux desktop users can use the terminal and SSH software bundled with their systems.

We will be using a Zybooks online textbook. You can buy from the PCC book store, or directly from Zybooks:

1. Sign in or create an account at learn.zybooks.com
2. Enter zyBook code: PCCCS162Spring24

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
