Details about this class
The curriculum includes assignments, paired discussions, a midterm assessment, and a final examination, all with specified deadlines. To ensure progress, a minimum of 12 hours per week should be dedicated to the course. While collaborative discussions are encouraged in pairs, all other tasks are to be completed independently. Support from both the instructor and embedded tutors will be accessible as detailed in the course syllabus.
Technology
A computer with internet connection is mandatory for this class. We will be using an online textbook from the zyBooks site, information below. Please try to buy your zybooks from learn.zybooks.com:

- Subscribe (Make sure you have chosen the correct instructor name and CRN)
Note: You must subscribe to the new book. It is also better to subscribe to the book through learn.zybooks.com than the PCC bookstore unless you have financial aid. The pricing is better and you can extend the subscription if you wish when the term ends. If you have any other subscription concern or question email support@zybooks.com for any issues. The response time is very good.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.

Online Prerequisite | Start Guide for Online Learning
Before you take your first online class at PCC, you must complete the start guide for online learning. The start guide will help you decide if online classes are right for you. Once you complete the start guide, you will be eligible to register for online classes.
The Start Guide is not required for Remote classes but strongly recommended.
