Mindfulness in Chinese Ink Painting
Express the spirit and inner vitality of nature. We focus on an ink painting style that portrays plants as symbols of beauty, resilience and harmony. Cultivate mindfulness, creativity and a renewed connection with local plants. All levels welcome.
Each session is structured into three parts. Part 1 (40 minutes): Art Appreciation - Participants engage in guided discussion and interactive conversation, learning how to observe and interpret Chinese ink paintings with attention to philosophy, symbolism, and emotional expression. Part 2 (30 minutes): Foundational Practice - Students explore essential techniques such as expressive brushstrokes, ink gradation, elegant use of space and introductory calligraphy. Part 3 (50 minutes): Guided Creation - The instructor demonstrates step-by-step techniques and leads participants in completing a finished painting during each session, drawing inspiration from flowers and plants found in the local environment.
