Course Syllabus

Consider reviewing the course syllabus to learn more about this class- including how we will use a grading agreement to calculate your final grade.

Week One Meeting With Me

I like to begin the term by having a quick 1-1 meeting with you. Online classes can be really lonely since we mostly interact with a screen, so this is an opportunity to make a human connection.

Two weeks before our class starts, I'll email a link to my appointment calendar to select a 15-minute meeting window for us. I expect our meeting to take less than 5 minutes. If the only time you have available to meet is in the evening or on the weekend, please send me an email to schedule a time that works for you.

Course OER

Instead of a hardcopy textbook, we'll be using a collection of free Open Education Resources that are embedded directly into our course. The readings and videos being housed in our course mean that there are no other websites or books to visit- our D2L Brightspace class is a one stop (free!!) destination!

Technology

There is no additional technology required for this class.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.

Online & Remote Teaching Technical Requirements

Please be sure to read the quick guide to Online Learning technical requirements.

Students with disabilities

Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.

Online Prerequisite | Start Guide for Online Learning

Before you take your first online class at PCC, you must complete the start guide for online learning. The start guide will help you decide if online classes are right for you. Once you complete the start guide, you will be eligible to register for online classes.

The Start Guide is not required for Remote classes but strongly recommended.
