Technology

Microsoft Word and Adobe Reader (free from Adobe). Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 2016 (or later) - aka SSMS - will be used for queries against the CIS275 databases stored on PCC's server. Mac/Linux users can use DataGrip (free student license via JetBrains)

Desire2Learn is accessed through the Internet, so you will need a browser such as Chrome, Firefox, etc. Microsoft Visio (.vsd) is often used to create database designs (and is available for free download from Dreamspark) but is not mandatory for this class. File formats used in and by this class include .doc, .html, .pdf, .ppt, .rtf, .sql, and .txt.
