Details about this class
Classes do not have scheduled meeting times. Regular online participation is required, and weekly assignments must be completed on time.
Struggling with a challenging class is completely normal. Our tutoring centers and writing labs are available to support you and of course, help from your instructor.
Technology
Computing Requirements
Students will need access to a capable PC or Mac that can host a virtual machine and run a Linux image locally. Most modern computers meet these requirements. However, Chromebooks, tablets, and other lightweight devices generally do not have the necessary hardware support.
A limited number of on‑campus lab machines may be available for students who cannot run the virtual environment on their own device.
Textbook
The textbook for this course is an online resource available either through the college bookstore or directly from the publisher, TestOut. Purchasing directly from TestOut is often less expensive and typically provides faster access, so that is the recommended option.
Details about the required online textbook and subscription access will be provided in the syllabus at the start of the term. Regardless of where you purchase it, the textbook requires an active subscription to use.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
