Details about this class

This is a fully online course. All sections of BA 242 Introduction to Investments use Pearson MyFinanceLab software. At the beginning of the term students in this class should have free access to MyFinanceLab for a period of time (about two weeks) so you can get started. When the term starts login to the PCC Brightspace (D2L) web site to learn more about this class and how to gain access to MyFinanceLab.

The PCC bookstore may stock a bundle that includes a version of the text along with the MyFinanceLab Access Code to gain access to the eBook, study aids, homework assignments, quizzes and exams.

Important note: If you are purchase the text from a non PCC-bookstore, verify that you have an access code bundled with your text. Otherwise, you will still need to purchase an access code for MyFinanceLab.

Technology

Familiar with computers and the Internet.
Basic technology requirements include:
Access to a modern computer system with a supported operating system (OS).
A broadband internet provider or mobile carrier with LTE or better.
A compatible internet browser installed on your computer. Microphone and webcam recommended.
Other software requirements include:
Office suite software, to include Google Docs (provided by PCC) and MS software and other, pdf.
Current anti-virus software installed and up to date.
Multimedia plug-ins will be required to allow your browser to access online video and other interactive features.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.

Online Prerequisite | Start Guide for Online Learning

Before you take your first online class at PCC, you must complete the start guide for online learning. The start guide will help you decide if online classes are right for you. Once you complete the start guide, you will be eligible to register for online classes.

The Start Guide is not required for Remote classes but strongly recommended.
