Details about this class

Welcome to BA 101 Introduction to Business! I am excited to embark on this learning journey with you during our on-ground sessions at Rock Creek Campus on Thursdays at noon. As your instructor, my goal is to not only provide you with valuable business insights but also to empower you on a personal level.

Throughout this hybrid course, we'll spend 50% of our time in face-to-face interactions, creating a dynamic classroom setting. The remaining 50% will be dedicated to online work, ensuring a well-rounded and flexible learning experience.

Here's a glimpse of what you can expect in our time together:

  1. Strengths-Centric Approach: Prepare to uncover and leverage your unique strengths. We will delve into how your individual talents can significantly impact the business world.

  2. Real-World Insights: Drawing from my background in product design, training and development, marketing, and sales, I'll bring practical, real-world examples to the classroom. This will bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and their application in the business environment.

  3. Application to Your Goals: Whether your interests lie in entrepreneurship, management, or other business facets, the course content will be tailored to help you align your strengths with your aspirations.

  4. Practical Skill Development: Beyond theoretical concepts, we will focus on developing practical skills essential for navigating the business landscape. This ensures you are well-equipped for your future endeavors.

  5. Supportive Learning Environment: I strongly believe in focusing on your strengths. Expect a supportive atmosphere where your contributions are valued, and your questions are actively encouraged.

In my classroom, you will experience an educational approach deeply rooted in a strengths-based philosophy. Rather than emphasizing what may be lacking, the focus is on recognizing and nurturing the unique talents and potential within each student. The classes will be positive, encouraging, and geared towards empowering you to recognize and leverage your strengths.

I am enthusiastic about the possibilities that this Introduction to Business class holds for you. Together, let's make this a transformative and empowering learning experience. Please note that we will be using the book "Exploring Business" by Karen Collins, which costs less than $40.00 and includes free access to the homework application that I utilize.
