Details about this class
Welcome to BA-101: The World of Business in 10 weeks. We'll move very quickly, learn a great deal, and have some fun. Because we only meet once a week on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 7:50 PM, you will need to do class work by yourself and with teammates outside of class.
The textbook is required, either in print or e-version. Make sure you have your textbook in hand by the start of class. Detailed PowerPoint slides and summaries of each chapter are in Content in D2L. All the quizzes will be open book and online in D2L. You will be able to take them more than once if you want to. Most deadlines in the class are flexible but if you follow the due dates your workload will be nicely spread out over the entire term. The class will be easier and less stressful if you read the chapters before class and take the chapter quizzes weekly.
We'll meet once a week in-class on the Cascade Campus in TEB-219 and class is MANDATORY. Each skipped class will result in a loss of participation points which makes up a percentage of your overall grade. Our class sessions will highlight two chapters, involving small group conversations and interactive activities to track your participation.
Office hours during the term will be hosted through Zoom meetings via appointment if you have additional questions.
Look forward to a great term with you!
