Explores the beginning of the modern world and modern societies in Europe and the United States during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Analyzes the visual arts to reveal the impacts of social, political and technological changes, and to gain insight on the foundations of modern art and its impact on the world today. Prerequisites: (WR 115 and RD 115) or IRW 115 and MTH 20 or equivalent placement. Audit available. (See course content and outcomes.)
