Explores basic studio painting techniques, materials, and concepts. Develops and encourages creative problem solving and personal expression. Introduces basic skills and vocabulary to engage with art through critiques, which address formal, conceptual, and cultural issues. Recommended: ART 115 or ART 116 or ART 131.
