Details about this class

Thanks for your interest in ART 102! This class explores a variety of topics related to painting, drawing, and sculpture. By learning about examples from the past, you will discover ways to experience, appreciate, and understand art in your world today.

This course focuses on art from the Western tradition, including subjects such as 

  • Classical sculpture from Greece and Rome
  • Medieval manuscripts from the British Isles 
  • Renaissance paintings from across Europe
  • French drawings and prints 

There is no textbook to purchase. Course requirements include quizzes, short writing assignments, and one 2-3 page paper. 

This is an in person class! It meets on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9:00 to 10:50 at the Sylvania Campus.
