Details about this class
Course Description
This course will provide you with fundamental geographical knowledge of world regions and countries, as well as their ongoing process of development. You will become familiar with the regional (i.e., cultural, economic, political, and environmental) similarities and differences throughout the world and acquire an appreciation for the wealth of cultural diversity that exists globally, as well as the commonalities that have made the world an interconnected entity. you will learn about the changes brought to the world by globalization and see how globalization has reorganized the contemporary world's socioeconomics, cultural, and geopolitical structure.
Problems and issues of development will remain the focus of the course. The world regions studied will include North America, Latin America, the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East (comprising Southwest Asia and North Africa), Europe, Eurasia, Central Asia, East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania.
