Natural Thread Dyeing
Explore natural dyes and basic embroidery stitches to create a unique color palette using plants and minerals. Students will dye several skeins of cotton threads and one stitching cloth using harvested plants and mordants. Create dye baths, practice various stitches and start creating a final embroidery piece to take home.
Supply List: Students should bring a pen, pencil, notebook, something comfortable to wear and or apron, gloves ( I will provide latex disposable), one or two dry towels, plastic baggies, scissors and sewing kit (optional).
*Also bring an embroidery hoop 8-9" max.
