I am delighted to welcome you to BA 277 - Professional Ethics in Business, a remote + online course meticulously designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills essential for making ethically sound decisions in today's dynamic business landscape.

Course Structure: This remote and online course is scheduled to meet on Zoom every Wednesday at 10:00 AM, offering reduced seat time while fostering an interactive and engaging learning environment. The course structure incorporates a blend of Zoom sessions and additional online work, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of professional ethics in the business realm.

Learning Objectives: Throughout the course, we will focus on key learning objectives, including understanding contemporary ethical standards, utilizing the stakeholder model for decision-making, working within codes of conduct, addressing global ethical demands, and applying analytical thinking and writing skills effectively in the workplace.

Upon Successful Completion: Upon successfully completing BA 277, you will gain the ability to recognize ethical issues in a business context, apply various ethical reasoning frameworks to complex scenarios, appreciate the central role of ethics in decision-making, develop an enterprise perspective, and engage in meaningful conversations with peers on ethical considerations.

Remote + Online Learning: I would like to provide you with an overview of our Remote + Online class, combining the benefits of virtual face-to-face interaction through Zoom for the remote component and utilizing the Internet for a fully asynchronous learning experience.

The remote aspect involves live sessions via Zoom, offering a dynamic and interactive environment for real-time engagement with course material, discussions, and immediate feedback. Simultaneously, the online element provides flexibility, allowing you to access course materials, lectures, and assignments at your own pace.

My goal is to provide a comprehensive and adaptable learning environment, whether through real-time Zoom discussions or navigating online content at your own pace. I look forward to an enriching exploration of professional ethics in business and am confident that this course will empower you with the skills needed to navigate the complex ethical landscape of the business world.

Technology

There is no need for any special technology beyond what is already listed in the Online Learning Technical Requirements. However, I would like to highlight the significance of being proficient in using MS Office, specifically MS Word and PowerPoint. Additionally, it is essential to have Adobe Reader installed on your computer to facilitate a seamless learning experience.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
