Details about this class

The theme for this class is Poetry: Resistance, Identity and Culture. This class meets once a week at the Rock Creek Campus and attendance is mandatory. All readings are on D2L and students must print their readings and bring them to class. To learn more about this course please see the course flyer here.  Course readings consists of poetry or worksheets that show you examples of poetic form. All historical and material context discussed in my flyer are introduced by me through class lectures. At the end of the course you will have completed a portfolio with 8 poems and a final project that allows you to explore a collection of poetry and a poet who works in community.  

Technology

All readings are on D2L and students must print their readings and bring them to class. 

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.

Online Prerequisite | Start Guide for Online Learning

Before you take your first online class at PCC, you must complete the start guide for online learning. The start guide will help you decide if online classes are right for you. Once you complete the start guide, you will be eligible to register for online classes.
