The PCC Admissions team will evaluate your application in Phase I using the criteria on this page. To be competitive, ensure your application is complete and that all supporting documents are submitted by the deadline, as points are awarded for completeness.

Anatomy & Physiology sequence completion
  • 1 point: Completion of BI 231Z and BI 232Z by end of PCC’s fall term
  • 2 points: Completion of BI 231Z, BI 232Z, and BI 233Z by end of PCC’s fall term

Prerequisite credit completion
  • 1 point: Completion of 36–44 credits by the end of PCC’s fall term
  • 2 points: Completion of all 45 credits by the end of PCC’s fall term

Previous degree
  • 1 point: Completion of an international or domestic associate’s degree or higher by the end of PCC’s fall term

Science GPA
  • 1 point: Completion of BI 231Z, BI 232Z, BI 233Z, and BI 234 with a 3.75 – 4.0 GPA

Support courses
  • 2 points: Completion of a maximum of two of the following courses with a “C” grade or higher (see the prerequisite FAQs section for details):
    • ESOL 254: Academic Communication Level 7
    • CH 100 or higher: Chemistry elective course*

    • COMM 100 or higher: Communications elective course
    • MP 108: Healthcare Career Essentials
    • LIB 127: Information Research
    • MP 111: Medical Terminology*
    • HUS 102: Mental Health First Aid: Adult*

*Starting in 2028, these four support courses will be the only courses accepted toward Phase I points.

  • 4 points: Enrollment in credit courses at PCC in the last 2 years

Requires submission of a healthcare credential verification form.

  • 4 points: Completion of a professional international or domestic healthcare credential (no minimum number of practice hours required or expiration) – see the healthcare credential materials section for details

Requires submission of a healthcare experience form.

  • International or domestic, paid or unpaid healthcare experience (examples include a medical setting, home care, community health, or health education) – see the healthcare experience materials section for details
    • 2 points: Completion of 240–999 healthcare experience hours
    • 4 points: Completion of 1000+ healthcare experience hours
