Apply to the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate
To enroll in this program, you must apply for admission. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Career Pathway certificate is a two-course, 12-credit program that can be completed in less than one year. Students complete EMS 105 and EMS 106 to build the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to provide emergency medical care at the EMT level. Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam.
Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis, based on fully completing the application process. For best consideration, all minimum application requirements need to be completed two weeks prior to the start of your intended term. Class capacity varies by term.
Questions? For detailed admission and application information, please review the EMT admissions guide. You may also contact ems@pcc.edu for Emergency Medical Services admissions information, or Michelle Butler for Emergency Services academic advising.

After you apply
Registration override eligibility and process
To be eligible for a registration override, you must complete and clear all steps of the application process. Once your application is approved, you will receive an email through your PCC account with your status and, if eligible, permission to register – as long as seats are still available.
Due to high demand, our application process is first-come, first completed and cleared. If all seats fill for the term you applied for, your application may roll over to the next term. You will not need to submit a new background check or drug screen for one additional term.
Registration responsibility
Once you receive permission to register, it is your responsibility to enroll in the appropriate course. You will have two weeks to register before your seat is released.
If you need additional time due to financial aid delays or other extenuating circumstances, please contact the program admissions representative who sent your override email. If you communicate with them, your seat will be held.
If you do not attend the first class session, you will be dropped from the class.
