Information sessions

Learn more about Computer Information Systems (CIS) – PCC’s Information Technology (IT) program.

These information sessions for students who are considering one of the Associate of Applied Science degrees or the one-year certificate in Computer Information Systems.

Please note that Computer Information Systems and Computer Science are two completely different majors. None of the CIS classes transfer toward a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

The information session covers the following topics:

  • The difference between Computer Information Systems and Computer Science
  • An overview of the CIS certificates and Associate of Applied Science degrees PCC offers and the jobs they lead to
  • Prerequisites needed to start the CIS classes and program
  • First-term suggested class schedule
  • Transfer options for CIS students

Information sessions

These Information Sessions are designed for students who are considering a CIS major.

All information sessions will be hosted online through Zoom, which is free and can be downloaded to your personal computer or smartphone.

Fill out the form and choose the one session that you wish to attend.

You will receive a Zoom link and password for the information session no later than 9am on the day of the session. Please note: You will not be sent a Zoom link if you sign up for an information session after 9am on the day the session is scheduled.
